Alastair started in Financial Services in 2007. Graduating from the University of Glasgow, he began working within the administration team at an Employee Benefit/Wealth Managers business. In his 16 years within the company, he progressed through a variety of roles after qualifying for his Diploma in the early years and left the company as an experienced Wealth Manager and Employee Benefit Consultant.
Before joining Wren Sterling, he spent a year working within a Wealth Manager firm that had been established following the sale of the Accountancy arm of one of Scotland’s largest Accountancy firms. Alastair’s role included a review of the service they offered to clients, which lead to implementing cashflow planning as a tool help clients visualise the affects of his recommendations. Alastair now manages a client base that primarily focuses on retirement advice, succession and inheritance tax planning.
Within Wren Sterling he works both with private clients (drawing on his 16 years of experience in Employee Benefit consulting) to assist employers with their benefits strategy to attract the best possible candidates.
In his student years, a very keen golfer representing his home club, Hilton Park and his university, he also won a number of tournaments including his particular favourite, the South West Of Scotland Open Championship. Nowadays, golf is far more of a leisurely stroll with friends but more tiring as there are a lot more shots.
